About the Company

Mukutan Conservancy, previously known as Laikipia Nature Conservancy and Ol Ari Nyiro, sits on the eastern rim of Kenya’s Great Rift Valley, spanning 88,000 acres of iconic landscapes, providing a sanctuary for diverse wildlife and ecosystems.

The conservancy is situated at the convergence of two counties and is surrounded by over six pastoral and farming communities that share vital natural resources such as water and pasture.

Mukutan's mission is to lead as a values-based organisation, partnering with local communities to conserve their shared leco-system while fostering economic empowerment through the development of social enterprises and education programs and thus to foster the regenerative development of the broader landscape.

About the Role

We are looking for a passionate volunteer who can teach Italian, as well as support learning in music and the creative arts. Our ideal candidate doesn't necessarily need to be a professional teacher but should have a love for education, be flexible, and ready to engage with the natural environment.

The teaching position is available for a minimum of 2 weeks up to 6 weeks, with potential for a longer stay.

As a volunteer teacher, you will work alongside our full-time teacher, who plans and delivers lessons. Your role will be to bring your specialized knowledge or areas of passion to life, focusing on creative arts, music, languages, and outdoor education.

Who You Are

  • Someone fluent in Italian who can teach Italian language lessons.

  • A creative thinker comfortable with teaching music or art.

  • A person passionate about education and the natural environment.

  • You do not need to be a trained teacher, but enthusiasm, creativity, and a love for children are a must!

What We Offer

  • A supportive and collaborative teaching environment.

  • The chance to make a meaningful impact on young learners' education.

  • Opportunities to engage with and contribute to the local community.

  • A memorable and enriching experience in the beautiful setting of Laikipia, Kenya.

If you’re passionate about education and eager to share your expertise, we’d love to hear from you!
