About the Company

We are offering the unique opportunity to live and work on a beautiful 88,000 acre wildlife conservancy in Laikipia, Kenya. The conservancy is home to an abundance of wildlife - including elephant, lion, buffalo, and leopard. Located on the edge of the Rift valley with jaw-dropping views there will be opportunities to explore the conservancy through hiking, rock climbing, and mountain - biking.


The conservancy hosts a vibrant community with 150 staff members, volunteers and researchers, and also visiting guests through its 2 tourism facilities. We also work closely with our local communities on a number of projects and social enterprises.


You must be willing to live ‘in the bush’ and be independent and resourceful, and ideally have hobbies, interests or projects you can pursue after school hours and on weekends when not exploring the conservancy or getting involved in one of the many projects. We can also help facilitate and plan time off to explore the rest of Kenya.


There will be opportunities for travelling with the family while you teach, both within Kenya and internationally. Provisionally some time in Europe and either Asia or south America.

About the Role

  • We have two girls aged 7 and 9

  • One of the students is mildly dyslexic

  • They are fun, off-road kids

We believe in a‘growth mindset’ and encourage mindfulness and creativity.

The confidence and well being of our children is paramount.

Who You Are

We are looking for a teacher with:

  • Experience with the British curriculum

  • Key stage 2 teaching experience

  • Experience working with children with Dyslexia

  • Self sufficient and creative

  • An interest in Nature and a willingness to use the unique ecology of the conservancy to make an exciting, enjoyable home schooling experience.

  • A background / experience in music, art, creativity would be a bonus and the ability to oversee physical activity and sports / games.
