Cancellation Policy
We understand that travel plans can change. If you need to cancel your reservation, the following cancellation terms will apply.
1) Cancellation notice & how to cancel
All cancellations must be submitted in writing via email to visit@mukutanconservancy.org.
A cancellation is only considered valid once it has been received and acknowledged by Mukutan Conservancy. The effective cancellation date will be the date we receive the email.

2) Refunds (based on days before arrival)
Refunds are calculated from the date we receive your written cancellation notice.
-
30 days or more before arrival: 100% refund
-
14–29 days before arrival: 50% refund
-
7–13 days before arrival: 25% refund
-
3–6 days before arrival: No refund
-
Less than 72 hours (3 days) before arrival/no-show: No refund

3) No-shows and early departures
-
No-shows: Guests who do not arrive on the confirmed check-in date will be charged 100% of the booking total, and no refund will apply.
-
Early departures: If a guest checks out earlier than planned, no refund will be issued for unused nights or services.

4) Booking amendments (date changes)
Guests may request to amend dates instead of cancelling. Changes are subject to availability and may require a rate adjustment if pricing differs between seasons or dates. Mukutan Conservancy reserves the right to treat repeated changes or late amendments as a cancellation where operational planning has already been confirmed.

5) Refund processing timelines & charges
-
Refunds will be processed to the original payment method used during booking.
-
Please allow 7–14 working days for refunds to be processed (timing may vary depending on banks, card processors, or mobile money providers).
-
Transaction fees, bank charges, and currency conversion fees (if applicable) may be deducted from the refunded amount.

6) Third-party bookings
Where bookings are made through third-party agents, tour operators, or online platforms, their cancellation terms may apply. Mukutan Conservancy will honour refunds as per the agreement and payment method used.

7) Special bookings (exclusive-use, retreats, groups)
For exclusive-use bookings, group reservations, and long-stay bookings, Mukutan Conservancy may apply a separate cancellation policy based on the nature of the booking and the level of operational commitment required. Guests will be advised of any special terms at the time of confirmation.

8) Force majeure & exceptional circumstances
Mukutan Conservancy is not liable for cancellations or changes resulting from events beyond our control, including but not limited to: severe weather, natural disasters, government restrictions, political unrest, public health emergencies, or other force majeure events.

In such cases, Mukutan Conservancy may, at its discretion, offer one of the following:
-
A reschedule/credit for a future stay (subject to availability), or
-
A partial refund, where feasible, depending on commitments already incurred.

9) Travel insurance
Guests are strongly advised to purchase comprehensive travel insurance, including cover for cancellations, medical emergencies, and travel disruptions.
